A MAJOR road was blocked after two cars collided during rush hour on Tuesday (9/4).

A white hatchback and a grey car crashed into each other on Caversham Road at around 5pm on Tuesday, April 9, causing havoc between Reading and Caversham.

Around five police vehicles attended the scene where traffic quickly piled up on the main road.

The white car was badly damaged to its front while the grey vehicle sustained significant damage to the right-hand side.

Police closed the section of Caversham Road near Station Hill as the crash was cleared. This caused severe delays on the IDR and surrounding roads as police attempted to guide traffic away from the collision.

It is not thought that anyone was injured. Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service both declined to comment.
