A woman who hit a small child while drug driving has told magistrates she wants to keep her licence.
Shanice Medford, 32, of Garston Crescent, Calcot, admitted driving under the influence of cannabis at a court hearing on March 27.
During the incident - which occurred on September 13 last year - Medford ran into a three-year-old while driving a Range Rover in Royal Avenue, Calcot.
The boy was hospitalised with serious head injuries.
Medford was tested for drugs at the scene.
A cannabis byproduct, exceeding the legal limit, was detected in her system.
Despite her plea, the defendant has requested that magistrates allow her to keep her driving licence.
She will return to court for a hearing on this issue at a future date.
