However, after looking at the TripAdvisor ratings about McDonald's in County Berkshire, it is clear there are different calibres of fast-food restaurants. 

While there are some good McDonald's out there, we have sifted through restaurants to bring you a list of the best and the worst McDonald's in our region.

Although there are a total of 19 McD's located across Berkshire, here is the list of the six best and worst McDonald’s according to customers:

McDonald’s Slough

Rating: 3.9/5

The Best McDonald’s located in Berkshire surprisingly is located in Slough.

Customers have received a ‘god experience’ in the fast food restaurant which includes table service alongside its facilities.

One reviewer said: “The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. The food was delivered to our table quickly and tasted freshly cooked.”

This McDonald’s was refurbished one year ago featuring a new modern décor and order service.

Another reviewer said: “This is the best McD's in Slough. The staff are friendly. Food hot and quick. Very nice place to sit and have your food in.”

 

The Oracle, Reading

This McDonald’s is classed as the best McDonald’s in Reading, according to Trip Advisor and Google Reviews.

The location on the Riverside in the centre of Reading is great for shoppers looking for a quick bite to eat.

It’s friendly staff and piping hot food has been praised by customers who frequent the Reading fast-food restaurant and takeaway.

A reviewer said: “Lovely Mcdonald's here. Fantastic staff and food was piping hot when it came to our table. It's right by all the other restaurants and shopping centre. Lots of seats in there and it's a big store. I would definitely go here again when I come back to reading next year.”

 

McDonald’s Friar Street, Reading

The Friar Street branch in Reading has recently been reopened and refurbished following its closure last year after a fire at a nearby store.

With a late opening time to cater for customers after a night out on the town, this McDonald’s has always been a favourite among Reading fast-food restaurants.

One reviewe online said: “We had the help of a wonderful member of staff. She couldn't have been more kind and friendly to two grandparents taking their grandson out for the day. Of course, our grandson enjoyed his Happy meal and toy!”

 

The Lexicon

Rating: 3.7/5

A rating of 3.7 is an average rating among Berkshire McDonald’s however the Bracknell customers have went above and beyond with their comments.

Located smack bam in the middle of Bracknell town, centre, it has been praised for good customer service and good food.

A reviewer on Google review's said: "What you would expect. Food was correct, warm etc. Waited a while but that's the same anywhere on a weekend.

"Nisha needs a pay rise! She was there to help and was kind and willing to help. She was there to serve and was quick to help and quick to clean tables, sweep up the floor etc.

"Definitely get a feel that this is a well run Mcdonald with a good culture and customer focused staff. Well done."

 

McDonald’s Cippenham

Rating: 3.4/5

Located in the Asda Superstore in Slough, this McDonald’s has a mixture of positive and negative reviews.

With a rating of 3.4 out of 5, it is the second worse McDonald’s in the area.

Although one reviewer has described the service as fast and friendly, another said that it was ’absolute chaos’.

The customer said on Google reviews: “Cannot cope with orders plus Deliveroo and every other delivery company. Absolute chaos. Food always cold.”

McDonald’s Taplow

Rating: 2.5/5

This McDonald’s which sits in the Bishop Centre grounds on Bath Road has been listed as the worst McD’s in Berkshire with a Google rating of 2.5.

This however may be since it has only opened just over one month ago and currently only has 32 reviews online.

Customers have left a mixture of positive and negative comments after visiting the new restaurant.

One reviewer said: “Sharing 1st experience at Mcdonalds in Taplow inside the bishop centre. Great ambience, friendly staff. Just opened on 24th jan 2024!”

However another customer commented: “Don’t come here if you’re in a rush. Takes 10 mins plus for a simple order. A new conveyor belt system where they prepare the food upstairs out of sight. Not sure what they are doing up there tbh but not cooking burgers that’s for sure. Shocking really.”
