TWO people killed in a car crash on a Worcester road have been named by the coroner.

Courtney Hemming, 26, and Claire Adkins, 39, died in the crash in which six-year-old Leo Painter also died.

They were named by the Worcestershire coroner as inquests opened into their deaths on Thursday, (March 7).

The crash took place at around 3.07pm on the A44 Spetchley Road, Worcester on Thursday, February 22.

Claire Adkins and Courtney Hemming, both from Worcester, died at the scene when the Ford Mondeo they were travelling in collided with a grey BMW 3 series.

Leo, also in the Mondeo, was rushed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital but died a short time later.

No inquest has yet been opened into the death of Leo Painter. We have contacted Worcestershire Coroners Service for an update on this.

Two men, travelling in the BMW, suffered serious injuries. One remains in hospital.

We previously reported flowers, cards with personal messages and a teddy bear were left at the scene of a crash on the A44 Spetchley Road, Worcester, as a city unites in grief.
