Emergency services have closed a road in Reading as they respond to a fire in a derelict building.
At 4:45pm Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had been called to a fire on Richfield Avenue.
A spokesperson from the fire service said: "We are currently attending a large fire in a derelict building in Tessa Road, Reading.
"Please avoid the area while emergency services are at the scene."
The road has been closed from the roundabout on Richfield Avenue with Tessa Road, up to Richfield Garden Centre.
Heavy traffic is backing up in the area and individuals in Tessa Road have been told they must wait until the incident clears.
Firefighters are currently on the scene equipped to put the fire out.
