A group formed to educate retired members of the community and introduce them to others with similar interests is marking its fourth year in Woodley.

Woodley & District u3a was formed in 2019 and is part of an international movement whose aims are the education and stimulation of mainly retired members of the community — those in their third 'age' of life.

The group doesn't have a minimum age requirement but involves people who are no longer in full-time employment.

It is run by members for members, often meeting in homes and local venues.

Members have said: "It is a great way to extend your social circle whilst furthering existing interests or developing new ones.

"There's something for everyone."

The Woodley group has over 300 members with 60 interest groups: from crafts to cribbage, maths to music.

It is a registered charity and membership costs £12 a year.
