Dogs Trust: Four gorgeous underdogs looking for their forever homes

The Dogs Trust in Newbury offers a special place for abandoned dogs to settle into before finding their forever homes with caring families wishing to adopt.

From bashful boxers to terrific terriers there is a breed for everyone.

Although fostering is a great way to see if that adorable pup is for you, nothing beats the companionship and love of a dog that you know can call your own.

Here are four of the gorgeous dogs in need of a forever home at the Dogs Trust in Newbury.

Harper – Trailhound Crossbreed

Age: 3 years old

Harper, a three-year-old Trailhound crossbreed, is on the lookout for his forever home at Dogs Trust Newbury having spent almost 500 days in the charity’s care.  

Harper arrived at Dogs Trust in November 2022 after being found as a stray.
A sweet boy, who loves to receive fuss and cuddles from his favorite humans, Harper is looking for an active adult-only home.

He enjoys long walks and exploring new places. As a Trailhound, Harper is driven by tracking animal scents outdoors, so is looking for a home that can facilitate this with scent games, tracking or outdoor adventures.

Tilly – Collie Border Cross

Age: 10

If you’re looking for an affectionate underdog then Tilly would be the right choice for you.

The 10-year-old Collie X is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves her cuddles from people when she gets to know them.

She is looking for a quiet, adult-only home that has its own private garden for exploring and playing.

Although she is a happy dog, she can become overwhelmed by too much commotion and too much activity. A single adult household would make the perfect home for an animal that wants to soak up all the love from their owner.

Mike – Terrier Staffordshire Bull cross

Age: 8+

Mike is a super playful, active and trainable dog looking for his forever home with new owners in a one-animal household.

The pooch has lived in the Dogs Trust for a long time and has settled into the kennels where he enjoys nothing more than a relaxing nap in a cosy spot.

He is looking for new owners who can be around for the majority of the day as he does not like being left alone.

Mike can also be anxious in indoor environments, to begin with, so needs a quiet home with people who are willing to help gently integrate him into a home environment, having easy access to the garden and enrichment toys.

Ronnie – Rottweiler Cross

Age: 5 – 7 year old

Ronnie is a six-and-a-half-year-old Rottweiler ideal to live with children aged 12 and above who are confident with large bouncy dogs.

She is an affectionate girl who enjoys spending time in the garden before snuggling up on the sofa in the evenings (often upside down!).

Ronnie REALLY loves food which makes training and building relationships quite easy! She sometimes engages in play however she would much prefer to receive a fuss from everyone that she meets.
