Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash on the M4 near Slough.

At around 3.15pm yesterday, January 17, a white Peugeot Boxer van and a silver Ford C-Max were involved in a collision on the eastbound carriageway between junctions six and five.

Sadley the driver of the Ford, a man in his sixties, died from his injuries. The carriageway was closed for some time while recovery and investigation was ongoing.

A 24-year-old man from Swalwell, Newcastle upon Tyne, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but has since been released under investigation.

Senior investigating officer Investigations Lead Richard Thorpe, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are investigating this collision in which a man has sadly died.

“Our condolences and thoughts are with their loved ones. The man’s next of kin has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

“We are appealing for anyone with dash-cam footage or witness information to please come forward and call 101 or reporting online, quoting reference 43240025271.

“We would like to thank the public for their patience while we conducted our enquiries.”
