Subway has temporarily closed one of its restaurants in Reading town centre.

The Gun Street build-your-own sandwich shop has shut down due to 'technical issues'.

When the Chronicle walked past on Thursday, the usually brightly lit eatery was dark with chairs and tables stacked on top of one another.

A simple sign attached to the window reads: "We are temporarily closed due to technical issues.
"We will be back soon. Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Thank you."

Further details about the technical issues that have halted this restaurant's business remain unknown at this time.

It is not known how long the eatery has been out-of-action, though its opening hours on Google have been amended to 'temporarily closed'.

The Chronicle has contacted Subway for further comment.

Its closure has meant lovers of the chain have to find somewhere else for lunch this week.

Luckily Subway has two other branches in the town centre - at Broad Street Mall and Reading railway station.
