Thames Valley Police are conducting a scene watch this morning (6/1) after launching the first phase of a murder investigation in Pangbourne.

The murder probe was launched after a woman was found stabbed at the scene of a crash and a man was discovered dead on railway tracks just half an hour later.

The harrowing incidents unfolded on January 4, leading Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit to commence an investigation.

After officers were called to a crash at about 5.45pm on the A340 Tidmarsh Road at the junction with Flower's Hill they found a 56-year-old woman with stab wounds inside a Lexus car.

Despite receiving medical attention, she sadly died at the scene.

Less than half an hour later, both Thames Valley Police and British Transport Police were alerted to a casualty on the railway track near Pangbourne where an 18-year-old man was found dead.

On Friday, January 5, a cordon appeared at a mansion in Flower’s Hill whilst police and forensics began their investigations into the two murders

Police concluded that these two deaths appear to be related.

Although a police presence is still in place at the property, the cordon has been removed and investigations outside the house appear to have been completed.

Whilst visiting the scene this morning, The Chronicle witnessed two men entering the property after speaking to officers in an unmarked vehicle.

Flowers have been left outside the gates of the mansion on Flower's Hill as a tribute to the victim.

Following the incident, neighbors spoke of their horror and sadness at the incidents that unfolded.

One person said: "It's horrible, I can't believe what happened. We rushed out to help but the police were already here and then ambulances arrived.

"We were told to go home and they cordoned it all off."
