Dr Michael Mosley, famed for his Just One Thing podcast, numerous books and the Fast-800 diet, has created a new series for Channel 4.

Channel 4 commissioned Plum Pictures to make the brand-new four-part series fronted by Britain's favourite health guru which starts on Monday, January 8.

In The Secrets of The Big Shop, Dr Mosley will discover how some of the most common health concerns affecting families across the UK can be helped by making simple changes to our eating habits.

Dr Michael Mosley said: “All too often we opt for a pill when the answer to what ails us lies in our shopping basket.

"I passionately believe that even quite modest changes to our diet can have a big impact on our health and I cannot wait to get started on this new series where I’m going to try and change people’s lives by changing what they eat.”

Channel 4’s Jo Street, Head of Daytime & Features comments: “We’re delighted to have Michael once again bringing contributors and viewers at home insights that will help improve how they eat and how they feel.

"He’ll be using much of his expertise in this series to show how what we put in our baskets, and subsequently our bodies, has a real effect on our mental and physical wellbeing.”

Plum Pictures’ Head of Factual Gill Wilson adds: “We’re delighted to work with Michael Mosely on this new series, providing us achievable affordable advice on the big shop to keep us as healthy as possible.”

Each programme will feature one UK family suffering from various health concerns including headaches, high blood pressure, low libido, high cholesterol, hair loss, acne, stress, fatigue and joint problems.

The family will undergo testing and tracking from Michael who will give them insight into their food shopping habits and prescribe them alternatives to get their health back on track.
