A litter of pug puppies, who are all named after Santa’s reindeer, will be spending their first Christmas at home having been adopted from Dogs Trust Newbury.

The puppies arrived at the centre on December 21, 2022 and, as it was so close to Christmas, were given festive names.

Initially, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph were fostered by members of staff from Dogs Trust Newbury.

The first pups then went home to their forever families on December 31, and over the next few weeks the remaining dogs were steadily adopted.

Natasha Tarrant, Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Newbury, said: “We are so happy that our pug puppies have all been able to find loving forever homes.

“I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since they were at the centre. Everyone loved the pups."

Comet and Rudolph were among the final puppies to be adopted on January 14,  2023.

Rudolph’s forever family decided to keep his Christmas themed name, although it is often shortened to ‘Rudy’.

The pups are now looking forward to spending their first Christmas at home.

Natasha added: “Everyone at Dogs Trust Newbury wishes our Christmas pups all the best, and fingers crossed that ‘Santa Paws’ visits.”
