A THIEF has avoided a jail sentence after he was caught stealing over £200 of items from a supermarket in Reading.
Kyle Porter pleaded guilty to one count of theft at Reading Magistrates Court on November 28.
The 38-year-old was charged after he stole £260 worth of goods from Tesco on November 2 this year.

After pleading guilty, Porter, of no fixed abode, was ordered to pay £260 in compensation. He was also fined £53 on top.
Porter will also need to pay court costs of £85.
The maximum sentence for a charge of theft from a shop is seven years.
