The M4 was brought to a standstill between Junction 11 and 12 eastbound near Reading.
A crash on the motorway reeked havoc on Tuesday, December 5, grinding the road to a halt for four hours.
At 4:55pm Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a the crash on the M4.
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Theale Community Fire Station was sent to the scene.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Upon arrival, the discovered a collision involving two cars.
"Firefighters made the scene safe before handing over to Thames Valley Police.
"The crew was at the scene for approximately 30 minutes."
Thames Valley Police were unable to comment.
