Hundreds of residents across Reading have reported experiencing low water pressure this morning.

At 8:25am on Saturday, December 2, Thames Water confirmed that they would be opening bottled water stations across Reading as the problem is ongoing.

Thames Water has now allocated a collection point for residents in need of water to access for essential purposes.

Residents have been asked to make their way to the Waitrose supermarket in Twyford to collect water allocated for their households.

This includes houses in RG5, RG6, RG9 and RG10.

Thames Water said: “We’re really sorry if you have low pressure or no water this morning, as a result of technical problems at Sheeplands Water Treatment Works in Wargrave.

"Our engineers are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible.

"We’ve set up a drive-through water collection station and have a team on site at Waitrose & Partners Twyford, London Road, Twyford, Reading RG10 9EH. Our team have specific measures in place to safely distribute water on a drive-through basis.

"Please don’t ask for more than you need. The water is for essential use, like drinking, cooking and hand washing. If you have a neighbour who’s unable to get to our drive-through water station, please let us know and we’ll do our best to make sure our limited supplies are fairly handed out.

"In the meantime, we’ll be looking to open another bottled water station shortly.

"We'll update this page when we have more news."
