AN Indian takeaway in Reading that has been open for under a year is revelling in the success after being named one of the Best Takeaways nationally.

In the aftermath of winning the award, the takeaway has been enjoying a lot of success.

Owner of Heat and Eat Mohammed Nunu said: “People are coming from 30 miles away to get a takeaway from us. Business is very good, we can’t complain at all.”

Mr Nunu explained the advantages of pre-cooked takeaway meals.

“Because the food is suitable for freezing, there isn’t as much waste as people can refreeze it. When they want, they can take it out and heat it in the oven or microwave.”

He also explained that he prides himself on creating healthy Indian dishes with less oil than usual.

He said: “We are busy on Friday and Saturday nights, but we also get a lot of customers during the weekdays too.

“Everything has definitely picked up since winning the award and we still have our regular customers who come very frequently.

“We are a very new business, and it’s great to have everyone commenting on our food.”
