A shocking video of the moment a ‘drunk driver’ swerved into oncoming traffic has emerged online.

The incident occurred on May 18 at around 10 pm when a Volvo C30 was spotted driving across the carriageway in front of oncoming vehicles on the A4155 Henley Road.

The motorist, Imogen Parfitt, 31, of Fox Heath Gardens, Cane End was stopped by police and found to be over double the prescribed alcohol limit.

Dashcam footage of the drunk driver was posted by Thames Valley Police following the incident.

GHR Berkshire and North Hampshire News also posted the video on Twitter (X) where the car can be seen swerving to the other side of the road as two cars drove in front of her vehicle.

It shows that the drunk driver was in danger of hitting two cars coming in the opposite direction on the carriageway.

Parfitt pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle on a road or public place whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit.

After being charged, she appeared in Reading Magistrates Court on November 9 where she was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £461, and told to pay a £184 surcharge.

Investigating officer PC Louise Savory said: “Imogen Parfitt produced an evidential breath sample over twice the legal limit.

“Drink-driving is never acceptable and will always be dealt with robustly.

“It puts not only the driver but all other road users at risk of significant harm as a result.”
