Berkshire will pay its respects and remember the sacrifices of servicemen and women in a two-minute silence this Remembrance Day.

Observed every year since 1919, Remembrance or Armistice Day is marked on the anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11.

Remembrance Sunday falls on the second Sunday of November which means that it will be observed on November 12.

Services are being planned across the county to commemorate the contribution of the Armed Forces and their families from Britain and the Commonwealth.

Reading

Where: Reading Minster

When: Sunday, November 12 9.25 am, open to the public

Following the Remembrance Service, a march through the town centre will leave Reading Minster at around 10.15 am.

The Remembrance Ceremony at the Forbury War Memorial will include the laying of the wreaths and a two-minute silence at 11 am.

On Saturday, November 11, a two-minute silence will be led by Cllr Tony Page and the Reading mayor at Forbury Gardens War Memorial at 11 am.

Slough

Where: Town Square and St Mary's Church, Slough

When: The Remembrance service will take place at 10:50 am at the Town Square. A Church Service and wreath laying will take place at 11:15 am at St Marys Church.

The council has warned that if it rains then there will be no Town Square service and the service at St. Mary's Church will start at 10.50 am.

Wokingham

When and Where: Remembrance Parade - 2:35 pm from Market Place and, Remembrance Service from All Saints Church - 3 pm

Wokingham Town Council will also lead a two-minute silence at 11 am on Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12, in Market Place.

Windsor

Where: Service held at war memorial on Windsor High Street outside the Church of St John The Baptist.

When: Sunday, November 12 at10:50 am

Maidenhead

Where: A remembrance Service will be held at the war memorial outside the town hall.

When: Sunday, November 12 at 10:50 am

Burghfield

Where:  A Remembrance Parade will start from the Hatch and end at the War Memorial in St Mary's Burghfield's Churchyard.

When: The parade will start at 10:30 am on Sunday, November 12, and be followed by a service remembrance at the memorial.

Pangbourne

Where: The Remembrance parade will leave from Reading Road Police Station, leading to a service at James The Less Church.

When: Sunday, November 12 at 2:20 pm

Thatcham

Where: The Remembrance parade starts from the Kingsland Centre car park, around Thatcham Broadway, and to the War Memorial at High Street.

When: Sunday, November 12 at 10:30 am

Newbury

Where: The Remembrance Parade sets off from Pelican Lane ending at Market Place where the service is held.

When: Sunday, November 12 at 10:30 am
