Two people have been rushed to hospital after police discovered nine immigrants inside a lorry at the M4 Reading Services.
At around 4:50pm on Wednesday, November 9 police followed two HGV lorries into the services and discovered seven adults and two children during their search.
Two people were rushed to hospital to receive medical treatment and have since been discharged.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of several people being found in a lorry at the Moto Reading M4 Westbound services at 4.50 pm yesterday (9/11).
“Police, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, and South Central Ambulance Service attended, and a major incident was declared due to the amount of emergency service resources involved."
The seven adults who were arrested on suspicion of immigration offenses have been passed over to immigration officials.
The two children have been safeguarded.
Thames Valley Police added: “The lorry park at the service station was closed during the incident but has since reopened.
“Our thanks go to all those involved for bringing the incident to a safe resolution, and to those affected by the closure for their cooperation.”
