SEVERAL crime stories have taken place across Berkshire this week, from a paedophile and attacker being jailed to those failing to show up for hearings.

Here are some of those stories:

A MAN charged with criminal damage and possession of a weapon who has been trying to get his case dismissed has failed to attend court.

Waseem Malik, of Handover Way in Windsor, has been charged with criminal damage and possession of a stun gun in Windsor on December 8, 2020.

However, the 58-year-old has requested his case be dismissed, claiming the Crown has failed to provide proof that he is the defendant charged with the offences as well as providing sufficient evidence of the alleged incident.

A MAN was convicted of possessing sexual photos of young children after he was caught uploading the images to Twitter.

Ismaeel Ahmed, 22, was charged with two counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of children between September 12, 2019 and January 20, 2021, when he was aged 19.

Police were alerted to his offending after he was caught sharing the photographs on Twitter, a social networking platform since renamed ‘X’.

His address in Spackmans Way, Slough was searched by officers and an iPhone and several other devices were seized.

Ahmed pleaded guilty to the two counts and was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday (September 18) to 10 months in jail, suspended for 24 months.

AN ‘inherently violent man’ has been jailed for attacking his sister after becoming angry over someone eating his cereal.

Michael Britt, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm which occurred on February 21 this year in Slough.

He was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday (September 18) to a five-year extended determinate sentence.

The court that Britt, of no fixed abode, had been living with his sister after recently being released from prison.

There were two other people living in the property at the time, including Britt’s brother, when in the early hours on the morning Britt became angry over someone having eaten his cereal.

He threw his bowl on the floor, shattering it, before he grabbed his sisters hair and punched her to both sides of her face.

FIVE sexual assault reports were made at a weekend match at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in Reading.

Police have confirmed the reports were made in relation to the Reading FC vs Bolton Wanderers FC match which took place on Saturday (September 16).

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “The victims all reported being touched inappropriately over their clothing."

A MAN has been sentenced to prison after breaking into a home in Newbury.

Daniel Black, aged 45, of Westfield Road, Thatcham, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of burglary at Reading Crown Court on Monday, September 18.

At around 3.20pm on August 14, Black broke into an address in Pelican Lane and stole various items before leaving.
