The following cases were heard at Reading or Slough Magistrates’ Courts.

April 10 to 17

LUKE BETTS, 35, of no fixed abode, indicated guilty to seven counts of theft. The details are: on April 10, 2023, he stole £104.79 of household items from Co-Op in Slough, on April 8, 2023, he stole £87.15 of items from Co-Op, on April 9 he stole meat items to the value of £140 from the Co-Op, on April 11 he stole £77 of items from Co-Op, on April 12, he stole £488.03 of items from the Co-Op, on April 10, he stole £365.50 from the Co-Op, and on April 9 he stole £147.65 of items from the Co-Op. He was jailed for 20 weeks and ordered to pay £200 in compensation. There was no order for costs.

BENJAMIN POUNDS, 32, of Kingsley Close, Newbury, was found guilty of keeping a motor vehicle with does not meet insurance requirements on June 9 last year. He was fined £220. There were also court costs of £200 and a victim surcharge of £34.

LINDSEY TURNBULL, 35, of Coombe Close, Slough, pleaded guilty to five counts of theft. The details are: on April 10 in Slough this year, she stole £266.40 of items from a Cop-Op store, on April 11 she stole laundry items to the value of £206.50 from a Co-op,  on April 8 she stole £188.95 of items from a Co-op store, on April 12 she stole £488.03 of items from a Co-Op store, and on April 9 she stole £69.85 of items from a Co-Op store. She was given a community order to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity and to provide samples for drug testing for 12 months. There was no order for costs.

ROY MACE, 49, of London Road, Newbury, indicated guilty to stealing £24.40 of biscuits and alcohol from Sainsburys on March 18 this year, as well as one count of failing to answer to court/police bail. He was given 12 months of conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £24.40 in compensation. He was also ordered to pay £70 in compensation.

OWEN HARPER, 31, of Cressingham Road, Reading, pleaded guilty to the possession of a weapon in a private place, namely a sword, on April 1 this year as well as between January 11 and February 1, stalking a woman and causing her harassment. He was given a community order to complete 30 days of mental health treatment, 10 days of rehabilitation activity and must pay £200 in compensation. He was also made subject to a restraining order. There was also an £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £114.

ION-ADRIAN MARIN, 35, of Mirador Crescent, Slough, pleaded guilty to drink driving on October 12 last year with namely 144 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months, reduced by 18 weeks and fined £1,000. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £400.
