The following cases were heard at Reading or Slough Magistrates’ Courts

March 19 to 25

KAMIL CHYREK, 35, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug in Oxford Road, Reading on March 21 this year. An order was made for the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed. He is due to stand trial for other offences.

PIOTR JANKOWSKI, 42, of Station Road, Wokingham, indicated guilty to damaging a glass windowpane to the value of £100 on December 24 last year in Bracknell as well as assaulting a police officer. He was given a community order to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and 10 days of rehabilitation activity and abstain from alcohol for 120 days. He will also need to pay £100 in compensation, £85 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £114.

CRAIG MCCONNELL, 40, of Halwick Close, Hemel Hempstead, pleaded guilty to drug driving in Slough on October 6 last year as well as driving while disqualified. He was given a community order to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for 24 months. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.

ABDUL MOHAMMED, 35, of New Kent Road, Southwark, pleaded guilty to assaulting another person by beating them on September 9 last year. He was given a 26-week jail sentence due to the offence being a targeted attack and using a headbutt as a weapon. He was also made subject to a restraining order. There was also a victim surcharge of £154 but no other order for costs.

BRIDIE BRACEY, 38, of Misbourne Road, Uxbridge, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Arthur Road, Windsor on September 20 last year with namely 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. She was fined £200 and disqualified from driving for 18 months, reduced by 18 weeks. There was also a victim surcharge of £80 but no other order for costs.

SHANE COOPER, 49, of White Paddock, Maidenhead, was found guilty of assaulting a woman on August 30 last year in Maidenhead. He was given a 12 week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. There were also court costs of £200 and a victim surcharge of £154.

April 10 to 17

CALIN STAFAN, 40, of Bearwood Road, Wokingham, pleaded guilty to drink driving on April 8 this year in Reading with namely 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath as well as carried more passengers than his vehicle allowed. He was fined £200 and disqualified from driving for 18 months. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £48.

DANIEL VASILE, 27, of St Johns Road, Slough, pleaded guilty to knowingly entering the UK on an unknown date while being a person who required leave to enter the UK, as well as entering the UK in breach of a deportation order. He also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance on April 8 this year. He was jailed for 26 weeks and disqualified from driving for 60 months.
