A VEGAN restaurant has launched a bid to make changes to how it sells a range of beers, ciders, wines and cocktails.

Vegivores is a unique vegan-only food business located at St Martin’s Precinct in the heart of Caversham.

Initially run as a street food stall at its foundation in 2017, it moved to the popular Caversham shopping area in October 2019.

Now, the business owners have launched to make changes to their alcohol sales in a licensing application to Reading Borough Council.

In full, Vegivores has applied to sell alcohol on and off the premises from 11am to 10pm Mondays to Thursdays, 10am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10am to 10pm on Sundays.

It’s understood the application has been submitted due to an adjustment of hours and the desire to allow drinks to be taken away, as Vegivores already has a drinks menu featuring beers, ciders, wines and cocktails.

The restaurant is currently open from 11am to 3pm Monday to Wednesday, 11am to 9pm on Thursdays, 10am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 10am to 9pm on Sundays.

Each time a licensing application is submitted, members of the public are allowed to make comment on them by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk

The deadline for responses for the Vegivores application is Sunday, September 3.

If anyone makes a representation about a licensing application to the council a licensing meeting will be triggered.
