Reading Chronicle

Reading Chronicle:

AN ‘attempted murder’ in Reading saw a young boy hospitalised with two stab wounds and two teenage boys arrested after a ‘sad and terrifying incident’. Residents recall hearing ‘running’ and seeing ‘blue lights’ in the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday) in Hemdean Road, Caversham.

Thames Valley Police received reports of an altercation at about 12.50am before learning a young boy had been hospitalised. The force then arrested two boys, both aged 16 and from Reading, on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in police custody. Waking up, residents found parts of the road had been closed off, and they remained closed for the majority of the day.

The road was completely closed between Hemdean Hill and Priest Hill, as well as at Oxford Street junction and Balmore Park surgery car park.
