HOLIDAYMAKERS slammed after police catch hire car on the M4 with young children climbing over the back seats.
Thames Valley Police Roads Policing said it stopped the hire car on the M4 after two young children were seen “using the back seats of the car as a climbing frame.”
The driver told the force he was driving to the airport to fly home, after spending two weeks in the UK on holiday.
The driver was fined that “he had to pay immediately” and escorted to the nearest shop “where he had the choice of buying some appropriate seats or continuing his journey by other means.”
Posting on social media, TVP Roads Policing said: “We make absolutely no apology for robustly enforcing the requirement for children to be properly restrained and will continue to work to make the roads within our police area safer.
“A holiday is good. A safe holiday is even better.”
