A 40-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a victim was attacked in Reading town centre.

The incident occurred at around 11pm on Tuesday, July 11 outside Walkabout on Friar Street.

Several members of the public witnessed the offender punch and kick the woman in the face for approximately 10 minutes.

As a result of the attack, the victim suffered facial injuries but did not require hospitalisation.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone to come forward with information about the assault.

Investigating officer PC James Hammond, based at Reading police station, said: “This attack was witnessed by many people but we are yet to speak to all of them so anyone who is yet to get in touch, please do.
