A WOMAN accused of filming a play park is due to stand trial.

Euphrazia Matate, of no fixed abode, was allegedly caught Canal Way Park in Reading, next to a school on two occasions.

The 44-year-old has also been accused of taking photos and films of a person, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on two separate occasions.

Matate has denied the offences and is due to stand trial at Reading Crown Court for four counts of breaching a non-molestation order made on November 25, 2020.

She was allegedly to have filmed the play park on November 25, 2020 and September 6, 2021. The counts of filming the person were allegedly to have happened on March 26, 2021 and August 16, 2021.

The trial was due to start on Wednesday (June 21) but was ineffective for two main reasons.

Prosecutor Annabel Gough said a key officer in the case was not available this week due to policing the Royal Ascot event.

She said: “It’s an unacceptable position [but] he is essential, I think due to the protests.”

Secondly, Judge Edward Burgess is moving to a different circuit after Friday (June 23) meaning he wouldn’t be in Reading to finish the trial.

It has been relisted for March 26 next year.
