Horrific images show sewage emerging into a dishwasher and a tap due to a drainage issue at a mobile home park in Reading.

Riverside Park is a mobile home site located off Scours Lane in Tilehurst.

A neighbour living at Riverside Park has disturbing images of sewage belched into their dishwasher and bubbling up from the tap in their park home bathroom.

The park was taken over by Wyldecrest Parks, a company chaired by ‘gypsy millionaire’ Alfie Best Senior last December, with the company responsible for operating the site.

The issues have led one park resident to urge Wyldecrest to fix the issue.

In a letter of complaint, the park resident said:  “The persistent issues related to the sewage system in our community have had a severe impact on the health and environment of the residents, necessitating immediate attention and resolution.

“The accumulation of sewage poses a direct threat to the health and well-being of the residents, potentially leading to the spread of diseases and infections.

“Moreover, the environmental consequences of this issue cannot be overlooked.

“The untreated sewage not only contaminates the nearby water bodies but also has the potential to pollute the surrounding soil and harm the local ecosystem.

“The management of Wyldecrest Parks should ensure a safe and healthy living environment.

“However, the failure to address the ongoing sewage problems has left the residents disillusioned and concerned for our well-being.

“I’ve seen residents on site, one of whom just had a baby and is concerned about her child having an infection, and another person who is receiving cancer treatment is similarly concerned about her health.

“Residents are also very concerned about the fact that sewage is now getting into the freshwater source, which is very worrying.”

They then urged Wyldecrest to establish a proactive and responsive system to address the concerns raised in the future.

The resident added: “Regular maintenance, timely repairs, and effective communication with the residents are vital to prevent the recurrence of such distressing issues.”

“I trust that you understand the urgency of this matter and will allocate the necessary resources and attention to resolve the sewage problems at Riverside Park promptly.

“The health and well-being of the residents and the preservation of the environment should be the utmost priority for Wyldecrest Parks.

“I look forward to a prompt resolution and a healthier living environment for all residents of Riverside Park.”

The complaint was forwarded to senior management at Wyldecrest Parks by councillor Raj Singh (Conservative, Kentwood).

An estates director for Wyldecrest argued that the sewage issues are ‘inherited’ from the previous owners, and that staff are doing what they can to fix the issue.

The estate director said: “We bought the Park last December and inherited a drainage problem that had been ongoing for some time that we were unaware of and that nothing had been done about.

“We have carried out extensive works in the last six months and our Maintenance Manager who is a drainage expert met with the council on Friday [June 9] and the council is satisfied with the progress we have made and our action plan moving forward.

“We are working closely with the council and the Environmental Agency to find a resolution and in the meantime, a process is in place to ensure that the drainage is dealt with in the short term.
