THE death of an 81-year-old man may have been due to his work in a plastic factory, an inquest opening has heard.

John Harrington Hawes, of Catherine Road in Newbury, passed away at home on January 29 this year.

A medical cause of death has been given as epithelial mesothelioma, an industrial disease commonly associated to exposure to asbestos and fibres.
