A BESPOKE wedding dressmaker, that has made clothes for Madame Tussauds models, has been shortlisted for the Best Bridal Shop Award.

Marie Chandler Bridal, Reading, has been nominated for the third year running for the Muddy Stiletto Best Bridal Shop Award.

Clients praise the bespoke wedding dresses that are designed and made by Marie from her Reading studio.

Her clients have the opportunity to work with Marie to have their gown designed and made from scratch, or up-cycled.

One of Marie’s first clients, Caroline Burwood, said: “Marie was an absolute joy to work with. She made the whole process relaxed and good fun.

“I absolutely adored my wedding dress and I’m still receiving compliments from friends and family on it all these years on. I truly hope Marie’s talent is recognised and she wins this award, she is so deserving.”

Caroline explained that during the dress making process, Marie gave expert opinion about practical changes to make bride comfortable on her wedding day.

Marie set up Marie Chandler Bridal in 2016 after struggling to find her own wedding dress.

Her dressmaking skills have been seen in West End theatres and Madame Tussauds as several of their Taylor Swifts worldwide are sporting hot pants made by Marie.

Talking about the nomination, Marie Chandler said: “It’s really lovely to be nominated again this year, this is the 3rd year I’ve been nominated by colleagues and clients and winning an award like this goes a long way in making customers aware of my brand and the confidence to book with me.

“I stand out from other bridal wear designers in that many of my clients are looking for something a little different to what can be found in a traditional bridal shop. Last year I made a lilac lace gown, a jumpsuit in cerise pink beads and a gold faux leather 80s dress.

“Whether that’s in a stylish white gown, an elegant black dress or a colourful jumpsuit. I want them to feel empowered!”
