Filming crews have been spotted across Berkshire over the years as some of the biggest TV series and movies are filmed across the area.

The proximity to London and distinctive countryside has made the county that much more desirable when scouting for that perfect building or area to shot.

Although Pinewood studios in Iver Heath is a popular location when shooting a big budget film, most crews are seen within Berkshires smaller towns and countryside villages which give a film or TV series a little more grit and realism.

The latest TV show that has been seen this month in the Berkshire area is the second series of The Devil’s Hour. A Wokingham garage was spotted in the first series of the Amazon thriller and the next will feature a Yateley fish and chip shop and a Finchampstead convenience store.

Fans of the Amazon Prime spin-off of Lord of the Ring’s will be happy to know that another Bracknell location has been chosen for the next stage of filming.

This is the new Amazon distribution warehouse that was built on Lovelace Road and provides a completely blank canvas.

These eagle-eyed reporters have also spotted another crew in Stoke Poges at a country manor.

Daisy Golledge, apprentice at Berkshire Film Office, said: “Berkshire is no stranger to filming on location from productions such as Carry on Doctor to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

“In 2019, Resource Productions set up the Berkshire Film Office with the goal to continue the long-standing and growing film legacy of Berkshire.

“As a part of a living, breathing production company, we have the expertise to assist with a range of productions filming on location and in council owned properties.

“We can draw on our own knowledge as locals to Berkshire as well as our extensive location database to cater for film and television whatever the size.

“We are funded by the six local governing authorities, who we have close relationships with, as we work to maintain a film-friendly county.”
