FORBURY Gardens has been taken over by street food venders and market stalls for the three-day Cheese Feast, with hundreds of visitors enjoying the sunshine and food on offer.

The three-day event, organised by Blue Collar, is being held in Forbury Gardens from yesterday (Friday, April 28) to tomorrow, Sunday, 30.

Street food traders are offering a variety of options including gourmet cheese toasties, macaroni cheese and cheese boards during the three-day food festival.

There is something for everyone - even those who don't eat cheese - with a popular bar tent, fresh churros, brownies, tapas, Thai street food.

Reading speciality coffee roasters, Anonymous Coffee Co., are on hand with hot drinks and iced coffee all weekend.

Speaking to visitor, Lucy Marlow, 21 from Reading, she described the event as "the ideal place for food lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy the sunshine in a beer tent really. It's food heaven."

Reading-based cheese, beer and spirits shop, The Grumpy Goat, are hosting the cheese produce area which is open from 11am to 6pm, today (April 29) and tomorrow.

Live performances include an ABBA tribute band, a showcase from local dance schools, a seven-piece band performing Eurovision hits and ‘Barrioke’ - karaoke hosted by Eastenders actor Shaun Williamson.

The event is free to attend and will run until 10.30pm today and 11am to 7pm tomorrow.
