Street parties are a great way to celebrate with the community and the deadline for signing up to host a street party for the Kings coronation is approaching.

Complete the Street Party Application form on the Reading Council website by Friday, March 31, to host a street party on coronation weekend (May 6, 7 and 8) .

Reading Council need to know the date and time of the event, if you need to close a section of the road and whether the road would affect bus routes and traffic.

The Council is waiving the usual fee to close a road for the bank holiday weekend, but permission still needs to be granted.

Before the Council give permission for a street party, they need to be sure you have consulted with neighbours about plans.

Street parties will only be permitted to take place from noon.

Reading Council are also offering the opportunity to hold a street party across all weekends in June, for anyone who is unable to come together over the coronation weekend.
