A person has been found dead on the train tracks in Twyford.

On Sunday, March 5 British Transport Police staff and paramedics were called to the station shortly before 11pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Upon arrival, a man was located at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Twyford railway station at 10.56pm on Sunday 5 March following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"This incident is not being treated a suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Officers are currently working to identify the man in order to inform his next of kin.

The incident resulted in long delays for trains travelling the GWR line between Reading and Slough.

Passengers reported delays of 30 minutes up to three hours.
