The owner of a local up-and-coming business has been given the thumbs-up by business tycoon Theo Paphitis in his commitment to highlighting newcomers across the UK.

Sarah Jones launched her business ‘My Anxious Dog’, creating yellow harnesses and collars for anxious pets, after learning of dog Bella’s fear of strangers due to a trauma she had suffered.

Her work over the last few years, including the creation of ‘National Dogs in Yellow’ day caught the attention of Theo, who is a regular investor on the hit show Dragons Den.

His Small Business Sunday initiative sees him pick six businesses each week for a retweet to his huge social media following. He recently selected Berkshire based My Anxious Dog – which has a mission to raise awareness for our dogs that wear yellow.

Theo re‐tweeted her message and as a result, the business has attracted more followers and extra orders for the products, which are all designed by Sarah.

She said: "Running your own business is incredibly rewarding but when you are working on your own it can be hard work. It is great to have support from

“Theo to help raise the brand profile for our #dogsinyellow. Theo has recognised my hard work and helped spread the word about our campaign.”

The Small Business Sunday initiative has benefited hundreds of small businesses across the UK similar to Sarah’s venture.

My Anxious Dog featured as one of the winners at the SBS Event on February 24 with a host of other businesses attending.

Theo said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS retweet from me become part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.
