A gift company founded by James Middleton, the brother of the Catherine, Princess of Wales, has applied to sell alcohol from its Reading base.

Boomf, the gift delivery company was founded by Mr Middleton and fellow businessman Andy Bell in 2013, with headquarters in Reading and London.

The company is known for selling personalised marshmallows, confectionery and gifts for events such as birthdays, weddings, Valentine’s Day and Christmas.

Boomf has also become known for creating cards that ‘explode’ with confetti, videos of which can be seen on the company’s website.

It has a warehouse at Unit 1 Meadow Road, in an industrial zone of the Bell Tower area close to Caversham Bridge.

Recently, Boomf applied to sell alcohol on and off the premises from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 12pm on Sundays.

This licensing application has been submitted to Reading Borough Council.

It is understood that Mr Middleton is no longer involved with Boomf since its sale to investment company Galaev Grierson.

Mr Middleton was born in Reading on April 15, 1987 and is the younger brother of Catherine, Princess of Wales, formerly known as Kate Middleton.
