Reading boss Paul Ince was full of praise for wing-back Junior Hoilett after last night's 2-1 win over Swansea City.

Andy Carroll and Tom Ince netted either side of half-time to move the Royals into the top 10.

Speaking after the game, Ince highlighted three players for particular praise, one of which was 32-year-old Hoilett.

Reading Chronicle:

The former Cardiff and QPR forward has been forced to play most of this season in a more defensive position due to injuries.

Speaking after the win, Ince said: "Junior doesn’t fail to surprise me, someone of his age with his numbers. He gives you coolness and calmness, he never panics. I love him."

Another star in for praise was Tom McIntyre, who spent parts of the game at wing-back and midfield against the Swans.

"He is a clever player," Ince admitted. "He played there [midfield] last season against Sheffield United and won. He understands the role and what you ask of him. He’s been out for six weeks, and he’s had two tough games so he’s not 100 per cent. He gives his all and he’s one we’re lucky to have because he can play in lots of different positions."

A third and final player was son Ince, who fired home his 100th career goal in the second half.

"We got the second goal from Thomas, who was outstanding again today. We need to start appreciating what he gives to the football club, not just as a player. His work rate for the team and he’s a quality, quality player."
