Now with an 11-day break between the 3-2 defeat to Birmingham City on Friday and the home clash with Swansea City on Tuesday, December 27, Paul Ince has the chance to bring injured players back into the fold.

Naby Sarr and Tom McIntyre made long-awaited returns in the 1-0 win over Coventry City last weekend, both going on to start in the recent defeat to Blues, but they are expected to be joined by another defensive trio for the Swans visit.

Take a look below at those expected to recover.

Reading Chronicle:

Scott Dann

Although the 35-year-old is already back in action, having two run-outs for Noel Hunt's Under-21s, but he has waited eight months for a return to first team action.

Ince had hinted that he might be involved for Friday's trip to the Second City, but it came too soon for the former Crystal Palace captain as he was left at home.

With another 10 days recuperation, and another 70+ minutes for the youth side, under his belt, the next match would be a nice chance to see for centre-back in action.

Reading Chronicle:

Tom Holmes

Only missing for one match, due to concussion protocols, the vice-captain should be fit and raring to go after sitting out the Birmingham defeat.

Having come on leaps and bounds this season, he is one of the first names on the teamsheet under former England captain Ince.

Reading Chronicle:

Sam Hutchinson

The 33-year-old has had an injury-hit campaign so far, playing just 10times since his summer arrival.

Missing for five matches with injury, he played an hour of the 2-0 defeat to Watford last month before sustaining a reccurance of the injury and missing the three matches since.

After over a month out, the former Sheffield Wednesday favourite could make his return against the Welsh outfit.

Reading Chronicle:

Femi Azeez

Similar to Dann, Azeez is now back fit and firing for Hunt's Under-21 side.

However, having missed all season with a hamstring injury, Ince is being careful with the 21-year-old attacker.

On the bench on Friday night, the Academy graduate is surely edging nearer to a first appearance of the campaign.
