Reading boss Paul Ince admits he is 'looking at all options' as the injury crisis continues at the club.

Before the World Cup break, the Royals were missing up to six key players, including the likes of Naby Sarr, Joe Lumley and Tom McIntyre.

Jetting off to Tenerife for a warm weather camp, the former England captain admitted not as many were returning as he had originally hoped, with the likes of Liam Moore and Scott Dann still not back up to scratch.

Speaking exclusively to the Reading Chronicle, Ince admitted he could rule nothing out as they look to get to the bottom of the injury woes.

Reading Chronicle:

"They’re the same common injuries, calves," he started. "We’ve had six or seven calf injuries. I’m thinking is it the pitches? It’s hard because you can’t really put your finger on it. Are we doing enough in training? Is the intensity or workload too much? Naby [Sarr] did his calf, and then did his other calf. Do I come off them a bit as a manager, but that’s not the answer because they say that they want to do more.

"We need to look at all options. We can’t afford for them to keep coming in for two games and get injured again. When you start bringing in players late, they miss out on a pre-season and even though they’re training with us, it’s not really a pre-season. They miss out on so much groundwork, to have a base to go into the Championship. I think that was the case with Naby [Sarr].

Reading Chronicle:

"When you’ve got this embargo, you’re waiting around for people and trying to get loans or frees. We just have to try and make sure that once they’re back, they’re back for the next four or five months of the season. You’re talking about leaders here, men: Hutch, Naby, Liam Moore, Scott Dann. We are a pretty quiet team without those, so it’ll be great having them back."
