An old abandoned gas works building that has been listed for auction is set to be sold to the highest bidder with expectations to create 20 new flats.
The current building consists of two red-brick Victoria style building going back to 1840 when construction began just off Gas Works Road.
The auction will take place on December 15 2022 on Lot 107.
This property, advertised on Rightmove, is one of Reading’s most impressive and historical commercial properties currently up for auction.
Planning permission for this conversion and extension of existing buildings has already been approved. The new modern building is expected to consist of 10 one-bedroom flats, 9 two-bedroom flats and one three-bedroom flats.
The new building is surrounded by excellent transport links and access to the town centre.
