Former Reading star Hal Robson-Kanu is to be a pundit for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Starting next month, the Academy gradute will cover the action for ITV, along with the likes of Eni Aluko, Ian Wright and Gary Neville.

Playing more than 200 times for the Royals, and earning almost 50 caps for Wales, the forward was instrumental in the Welsh side that reached the semi-final of Euro 2016.

It is the country's first World Cup since 1958, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Brennan Johnson hoping to bloody some noses in the tournament.

Revealing the news on his social media, he said: "Here we go! An honour to be a part of this great team."

Other Royal connections at the competition could be stars Junior Hoilett, Andy Yiadom and Mamadou Loum- all of which have featured in qualifying for their nations.

Championship football will be put on hold fora fortnight while the group stages take place, before resuming on Saturday, December 10.
