Former Reading defender Michael Hector is on trial with Championship rivals Luton Town, according to reports.

The 30-year-old Academy graduate made almost 100 appearances from 2013 until 2016, joining European giants Chelsea in 2015.

Failing to make the grade at Stamford Bridge, the Jamaica international was a Championship regular with the likes of Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham- winning the second tier title last season with the West London outlet.

Released by the Cottagers over the summer, the central defender had been spending time on trial with the Royals until recently, but the club could not get a deal over the line with the free agent.

According to Luton Today, the Aberdeen favourite in now at Kenilworth Road looking to earn a deal.

Nathan Jones' Hatters have enjoyed a great return to the Championship, reaching the play-offs last season and in the mix for the top six after 16 games of this term.

Paul Ince takes his side to Bedfordshire in less than two weeks, potentially facing up against Hector if any deal is agreed.
