Schools in Windsor and Maidenhead have been named amongst the 'best' in the country by a new study.

Childcare and education experts Little Ones London examined the percentage of schools rated outstanding by Ofsted in over 150 parts of England.

The results concluded the best and worst places to get an 'outstanding' education.

It revealed that Windsor and Maidenhead is the ninth-best area for education, with a third of schools receiving an outstanding rating in their most recent Ofsted inspection.

A spokesperson for Little Ones London said: “Every parent wants the best education for their children, so living close to good schools is a priority for many families.

"The results from this study offer an intriguing insight into which specific areas of England can offer the best education, with London dominating the list.” 

The results revealed that Kensington and Chelsea in London were the best in England for education with 51.52 per cent of its schools rated outstanding.

They are followed closely by Richmond upon Thames with 46.43 per cent of its schools receiving an outstanding rating from Ofsted in their most recent inspection.  

By contrast, the Isle of Wight was rated the worst place in England for education, with 0 per cent of its 45 schools receiving an outstanding rating.

Also falling short is Blackpool with 5.13 per cent of schools classed as outstanding and Dudley with 5.15 per cent of schools rated outstanding.
