Reading scored twice in the second half to return to winning ways over Bristol City.

Nigel Pearson's side, fresh off the back of a 2-0 win over West Brom in midweek, failed to get going and failed to back up their strong midweek result.

Here are three things you may have missed from the win.

Return of a famous face

Royal legend Dave Kitson returned to the SCL Stadium for the first time in a while to witness the win.

An outspoken star, he famously hit out at the club and refused to take part in the 150th anniversary legends match over the summer.

Putting a post on Instagram, he said "13 years later, I finally went back..."

Former teammates Ivar Ingimarsson and Ibrahima Sonko commented on his post, showing the bond remains between the record-breaking 2006 side.

Tom McIntyre photoshoot

After putting in a perfect performance against the Robins, McIntyre enjoyed the lap of appreciation to clap the fans.

A boyhood Royals supporter, everyone knows the love the Academy graduate has for the fans, and vice versa.

Stopping to take videos of the fans, he shared his BeReal in front of Club1871.

Carroll scores in Berkshire...finally

From one fan favourite to another, the 'BFG' grabbed a goal in stoppage time to seal the win after great play from legend Shahe Long.

In his second spell with the club, it was the 33-year-old's first SCL Stadium goal in nine attempts- stretching back to 2010 with Newcastle United.

Now with four Reading goals to his name, the previous three had all come on the road.
