Former Reading trialist Grant Ward has re-signed for Blackpool after the Tangerines had originally released him over the summer.

Playing 56 times for the club from 2019, he suffered a long-term injury and was let go at the end of last season- spending time with Paul Ince's side.

Taking part in the pre-season training camp at St George's Park, the former Ipswich Town midfielder moved on after the week in the Midlands, along with the majority of the eight trialists that were there in total.

Returning to Bloomfield Road on a deal until the end of the season, Michael Appleton has turned to the 27-year-old following news that Kevin Stewart is out for the forseeable future with an injury.

Speaking on the move, the manager said: "Everybody knows that Grant has been training with us for a number of months now – since the start of pre-season – on the basis of getting fit and fixing himself up with a club, but with Kevin Stewart now looking like he will be out until the New Year, this was the natural solution to sign him until January.”

A Tottenham Academy graduate, Ward has made almost 300 career appearances across the Championship, League One and MLS.
