Reading Women manager Kelly Chambers could not praise the likes of Mark Bowen and Paul Ince more, describing the atmosphere as a 'one club feel.'

Chambers has been in charge in Berkshire since 2015, previously a captain for the club in her playing days.

On top of her role as manager, since retiring she has held the title 'Director of Women's and Girls Football'.

However, since moving into Bearwood training ground and the side started playing their home matches at the SCL Stadium, the boss believes the feeling around the club has come on leaps and bounds.

Reading Chronicle:

Speaking to the media in recent weeks, Chambers underlined the role of Head of Football Operations, Bowen, who was previously Chambers' male counterpart when he was manager in 2019/20.

"He’s been great," she started.  "It’s nice to have football direction. He was at our Manchester United game which was nice, probably the first time I’ve had someone of that calibre within the club come and watch. I have regular meetings with him to make sure we’re pushing on and pulling in the right direction."

Not just praising the Welshman, former England captain Ince has had a similar impact on Chambers since his appointment as permanent manager in August.

Reading Chronicle:

"It’s the same with Paul Ince, he’s been great in terms of knowing what’s going on and having football conversations. When people talk about a one-club feel, that’s definitely what I feel like it’s become here. We’ve always been one club but moving into the training ground has made that feel more and now the people that are around, including Paul, Mark and the powers that be, it really feels like one club. The support I’ve had has been fantastic."

The Royals currently sit winless in the Women's Super League, facing West Ham this weekend.
