Bristol City striker Nahki Wells is 'hungry' to continue scoring after disappointment of dropping to the bench in recent weeks.

The Bermudan returned to the starting side on Tuesday night and scored in a 2-0 win over West Brom, taking his total to seven for the season.

An experienced goal scorer for the likes of Huddersfield Town and Burnley, the 32-year-old has been a constant thorn in the side of Reading down the years.

A former transfer target of the Royals, Wells has scored seven goals against Reading in 17 meetings since 2013, the joint-most goals against an indiviudal team.

Speaking to the media after the game, Wells is determined to make the most of his playing time.

"I felt a bit hard done by to come out of the side, I had a chat with the gaffer this morning (Tuesday) and he said maybe it's a bit harsh as well in bringing me out but there's a lot of competition and maybe I had a bit of an underperformance in that first half against Birmingham.

"I was playing a lot of football and you respect the manager's decision to sometimes make changes. I've been hungry to get back and take my chance so I'm delighted to perform well tonight and get a goal and get the three points."

Manager Nigel Pearson spoke highly of the Bradford City legend, saying: "He embraced the challenge really well. That was one of the better games I've seen him play. For somebody in his 30s, one of the strengths he's got is genetics. If he keeps his enthusiasm, he's not going to slow down."
