Reading boss Paul Ince underlined his position on the league table after Saturday's 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town, imploring all not to get carried away.

The Royals have made a brilliant start to the season, sitting third with seven wins from the first 11 matches.

However, among those four defeats include thrashings at Rotherham United, Sunderland and Sheffield United.

Facing Norwich City tomorrow, the side directly above Reading in second, they could potentially hit the Championship summit.

However, despite the strong early form, Ince insists the club cannot afford to get carried away.

"I’m not going to change the way I see things. We have to stay in this league. When we get there, we will see where we are. We’ve been here before, we played Sunderland at home, and everyone got a bit excited, and we got our arses felt. We can’t get complacent. We’ve got to play Watford, West Brom, Norwich, it can change. We have to get to 45 points as soon as possible."

The Canaries visit the SCL Stadium in excellent form, unbeaten in eight with four wins on the spin.

Reading Chronicle:

Despite this, the former England and Manchester United captain has called on his players to be fearless.

"It will be a really tough game. When you ask the same 13 or 14 players to play, it’s pure madness. If we play like we did in the first-half, we’ve got nothing to fear, we don’t fear anybody. We got into that game with confidence."
