Reading will look to return to winning ways on home turf after a 3-0 defeat to Sunderland earlier in the month- the Royals' first loss at the SCL of the Championship campaign.

However, Paul Ince's team did manage to go into the international break on a high, beating Wigan Athletic 1-0 at the DW Stadium.

Sat up in third, it's been an excellent start, and one which everyone hopes can continue.

It's been a different story for the Terriers, who are sat second bottom of the table.

Struggling to go again after being beaten in the play-off final last season, manager Carlos Corberan and key stars Lewis O Brien and Harry Toffolo departed.

Club legend Danny Schofield stepped in but lasted just eight matches, with Hertha Berlin coach Mark Fotheringham taking charge of his first match in Berkshire.

They do make the journey south on a high though, beating managerless Cardiff City 1-0 at the John Smith's Stadium.

Despite the two week break, Ovie Ejaria is the only player who could potentially make a cameo coming back from injury.

There is progress for Femi Azeez, with the attacker back on the grass in training.

Naby Sarr saw a calf issue reappear and will be out for another few weeks.

Shane Long's virus remains an issue and he is not in contention.

Last Time Out: Reading 3-4 Huddersfield Town; Saturday, January 22 2022

A topsy-turvy clash at the SCL Stadium saw Reading come out on the losing side of a seven goal thriller.

It started well when Lucas Joao netted within five minutes, Danel Sinani equalised before the 10 minute mark.

Danny Ward hit the first of his three that day to give the visitors the lead before George Puscas equalised again.

It took three minutes for Ward to find his second but Michael Morrison's header took the sides into the break at 3-3.

Just one goal followed in the second half, Ward hitting a stunning strike to snatch all three points.
