A wristband worn in the queue to see the Queen lying in state is being hawked by an Ebay seller in the Reading area for hundreds of pounds.

The royal memorabilia permitted entry into Westminster Hall between September 14 and 19, before Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Now an Ebay seller is hoping to fetch £1,000 for the free wristband – plus £3.35 for second-class postage.

The seller did not respond to a request for comment.

Wristbands were handed out to those queuing for hours in London to see the coffin in order to mark their rough place in the queue while they used the toilet or retrieved food.

Ebay pledged to remove similar listings, telling the Guardian earlier this month that the wristbands were against their policies.

Yet sellers continue to try and hawk the paper slips for between £10 and £1,000.

The listing for the pink band in Reading claims it was used for entry on September 15.

It is described as a “Royal memorabilia Queen Elizabeth II lying in state wristband.”

This appears to be the seller’s only royal item for sale, alongside Primark sandals, a Disney Stitch onesie and a handbag.

The seller does not accept returns.
